Christopher Nolan’s ‘see no Churchill’ stance in his great movie was disheartening, combined with how time consuming blogging could be, led to me to stop. I figured I’d pick it up again at some point since I always enjoyed the end result of blogging, the feeling of having thought through an idea.
For a while I’ve had a desire to document how I am experiencing the changes in communication from AI to podcasts. The main reason not to was the thought that I’m already too late. The only thing I’m sure as I begin again, is that that thought is always wrong.
Sometime in 1994, sitting in a former garage lined by newly attached wooden book shelves built by my then father-in-law, Pepe, I loaded an AOL CD into my PC intended to provide internet access with a 56 kbps modem. I then heard the iconic AOL connectivity sound. I was online.
My first thought was to wonder whether that sound meant it worked. Since I had not installed a browser, there was nowhere to go. My next thought then is the basis for this effort to document the equivalent experience 30 years later: What now?
