William F. Buckley, Jr. – Favorite Lines

One of my favorite William F. Buckley, Jr. lines from ‘Who’s On First’ – chapter 6:

What Frenchman is in a position to reproach anybody, anywhere, on the subject of diplomacy? Here they were [1957], stuck on Algeria — after being defeated in Indochina — after being defeated by the Germans — one generation after they’d have been defeated by the Germans save for the intervention of Mr. Wilson, two generations after losing to the Germans in 1870. Sheeeyit. Do we tell frogs how to jump on grapes?
